Accessibility Statement
This statement was created on November 9, 2025.
El Rincón Boriken is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Our Commitment
We believe that our cultural and educational mission—to connect the community to the vibrant history of Puerto Rico and support Boricua artisans—should be available to all people, regardless of technology or ability.
We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.
Accessibility adjustments on this site
We have taken the following steps to ensure our website is accessible:
-
Design Standards: We integrate accessibility into our design, development, and content creation processes.
-
Clear Structure: We use proper headings (H1, H2, etc.) to structure content, making it easy to navigate using screen readers.
-
Contrast and Color: We maintain a high level of color contrast between text and backgrounds to ensure readability for users with low vision.
-
Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements, links, and forms can be accessed and used using only the keyboard.
-
Alternative Text: We provide descriptive alternative text (alt text) for all meaningful images, including pictures of artisan goods, to ensure screen reader users understand the visual content.
